KT tape winner and yard renos

Thank you to everyone who entered the KT tape giveaway! It’s surprising how many people use it and for such a variety of ailments. I wish there was a cure all for sports-related injuries.

The winner is Lisa! I’ve sent her an email.

For those of you that haven’t tried it, I recommend going out and getting some. In Canada I know Shoppers Drug Mart and Sport Chek sell it. Check out the KT website for store locations in the States.

Kelly’s the hardest worker I know, and once he gets an idea he acts on it.

On Friday evening he discussed some yard reno ideas he had. Saturday morning he woke me up to tell me he was going to the hardware store. By the end of the day our deck was gone. And by the end of Sunday I had a garden box! I am beyond excited to try my hand at growing a few vegetables this year.

I’ll post some before and after photos once everything is finished.

For now, I’ll leave you with Harold’s reaction.

He’s not sure about this!

What’s your favourite garden fresh vegetable? Any advice on which ones are easiest to grow?!

  1. we had a garden last year and the easiest thing we found were spaghetti squash. FYI. Our dog Sadie loved them, I found 2 of them nearly all eaten lol! They were within her reach though, so our fault. Also, give them tons of space because they grow long vines:) I think carrots are easy, too!

  2. Harold is trying to act unimpressed, but deep down he can’t wait to nibble on some garden fresh tomatoes! They’re my favorite, too!

  3. Ohhhh, I love Harold’s expression! Give that boy a big squeeze for me!

  4. AHH GARDEN! I am so excited for you. I say onions, beets, carrots, and some kind of chard/kale/lettuce are super easy! I had great success with those and my “first garden.” Squashes, tomatoes, and strawberries all do well too!

  5. Congrats, Lisa! Prepare to be addicted to KT Tape forever! 🙂

I have garden envy! I wish we even had a yard for me to start gardening in. That’s so cool! And Harold is adorable haha. I love his face. 🙂

  6. Awesome!! I LOVE garden fresh fruits and veggies 🙂 I would have to say tomatoes are probably one of my favorites, but fresh strawberries are a very close 2nd!!

  7. Wow! Can he come to my house? I love gardens. Our backyard is unfortunately too shady to support one. Harold’s reaction is awesome!

  8. So cool about the yard reno. I can’t grow anything green – wish I could!!

  9. Dang, I never win any of these give a ways. Haha! Oh well. I wish I could help you on the garden, but I have the opposite of a green thumb. My rosemary bush is the only thing I’ve planted that thriving!

I loveeee our garden! It’s so nice to walk outside and get fresh herbs/veggies for dinner. Can’t wait for pics!

  11. As you already know, I love KT tape! Used it during Boston and it was awesome! I am really jealous of you getting a garden started, this has been a goal of mine for a while now. Oliver would have the same reaction as Harold:)

  12. I want a garden SO BADLY. But that will not happen in an apt in good ol’ vancouver.. eventually 😉 I cannot wait to see what you plant! Harold is the cutest!!

  13. I hope to have a garden some day. My mom always had one growing up and I remember always having an abundance of tomatoes. Yum!!!

  14. I’ve got a landscape gardener for a husband, so we grow everything! Basil is a tough one for us, it’s never consistently hot enough outside. You can grow anything, it just depends on how nutrient-dense your soil is (if it’s very low, potatoes might be the only one), and what the weather is like. One summer, everything we had went to seed because the weather was all over the place! Thyme, Rosemary and Lavender are hardy herbs, they survive outside during our winters, (not your’s though). We also have a Bay tree that goes outside once spring gets here. Good luck!

  15. Jealous!! I want to have a garden someday! I love fresh fruits and veggies!! I love squash, peppers, tomatoes, strawberries…the list is endless! 🙂

  16. I love fresh from the garden tomatoes! They taste so much better than any other time. Have fun with your garden.

  17. Oh Harold! LOL His face is so expressive!! I can’t wait to see pics of your yard work!

LOL!! Love Harold!! I love fresh radishes. Not sure how easy they are to grow since my dad keeps me supplied through out the summer. Also cucumbers which seem to be numerous from his garden. I am going to try my hand at making my own pickles out of them this year. Wish me luck (I will def need it!)!! 🙂

    • Oh- garden cucumbers are divine! I don’t think radishes grow well here, which is too bad since they’re my favourite veggie!
Pickling will be awesome- you can do the spice and seasoning to your liking!

Harold’s face cracks me right up! I was just telling Glenn that once we get our yard under control it would be nice to grow veggies. I’m thinking that maybe next year that’ll be a project we undertake! I am looking forward to seeing the pics. What veggies do you think you’ll plant?

    • Kelly finished everything last week and we just put the finishing touches this weekend! However, I won’t plant anything for a couple weeks still- it’s too cold!
I think I’m going to plant carrots, beans, lettuce and maybe a bit of onion and fresh herbs. Can’t wait!
